25 I am laid low in the dust;
preserve my life according to your word.
Jesus, revive me with your word. I am face down in the dirt, asking for your direction.
26 I recounted my ways and you answered me;
teach me your decrees.
Jesus, teach me to understand your word and your ways. I have asked you over and over for things and you have always provided. I will not doubt now.
27 Let me understand the teaching of your precepts;
then I will meditate on your wonders.
Jesus, speak to me through your word. Make it so I can understand what you say. Give me understanding.
28 My soul is weary with sorrow;
strengthen me according to your word.
Sometimes, like right now, I am overwhelmed. I am weary with sorrow. I am spent. I am tired. Give me strength Jesus.
29 Keep me from deceitful ways;
be gracious to me through your law.
Jesus, remind me of your word, remind me of your ways and your direction. Speak clearly to me and give me the ability to walk away from the pits of sin I happen to fall into on a daily basis.
30 I have chosen the way of truth;
I have set my heart on your laws.
Jesus, I chose you! I want nothing more than what you have to offer. If you can’t bless it Jesus, don’t give it to me. I want what you want. I love you!
31 I hold fast to your statutes, O LORD;
do not let me be put to shame.
Jesus, right now, in this time in life, I am stepping out on faith and sometimes my faith is weak. Please don’t let me be put to shame. I am scared.
32 I run in the path of your commands,
for you have set my heart free.
Jesus, the freedom you have given me brings me peace. The freedom that comes with knowing that you have my life in your hands makes my burdens light. And I love you for that. Tonight, I just needed that reminder, thank you for that.
