Psalm 119: 9-16

Just as an FYI… we are walking through Psalm 119, verse by verse, day by day… all 176 verses. We are going to read over them, cry over them. Rejoice over them and personalize them… are you ready? It’s gonna freaking rock, I promise…

⁹ How can a young man keep his way pure?
By living according to your word.

¹⁰ I seek you with all my heart;
do not let me stray from your commands.

¹¹ I have hidden your word in my heart
that I might not sin against you.

¹² Praise be to you, O LORD;
teach me your decrees.

¹³ With my lips I recount
all the laws that come from your mouth.

¹⁴ I rejoice in following your statutes
as one rejoices in great riches.

¹⁵ I meditate on your precepts
and consider your ways.

¹⁶ I delight in your decrees;
I will not neglect your word.

As a mama of a baby boy, well toddler now, these next 8 scriptures are near and dear to my heart. I pray these verses over him daily. You see, this is one of my favorite things about His word, we can make it personal. We are allowed to take His word as a Word written for us!

For example:

Jesus, my love, how can my son keep his ways pure? I passionately ask You this question, the world we live in is not one that support him living according to Your word. So my prayer is that he may seek You with all his heart, speak to him through Your word so that he may not stray from Your commands. I pray that he has hidden Your Word in his heart so that he might not sin against You, but when the times comes and the time will come… may Your word also speak forgiveness and grace to him. Teach him Your ways. May his lips speak truth and may he be quick to remember and speak Your word over his own life. May he find laughter and life within the pages of scripture, may he rejoice over You. May he think of Your word every moment of every day. May he live for You and You along, may he want to spend time within the pages of scripture. May he crave it. I love you Sweet Jesus and I love him, so please take care of him and honor his mama’s requests over his life. You are good and I praise You for all you are and have done for me.
